Q. What is the Women’s Ministry?

A. The Women’s Ministry of Galilee Christian Church exists for the purpose of equipping women to become women of excellence through Bible study, prayer, service, fellowship and praise.

 Q. Who are the team members?

A. Any woman who wants to join us is welcome.  Our committees include spiritual growth, on and off-campus special events, Bible studies, Ladies’ Night Out, a coordinator who assists widows, a coordinator for our food ministry, and those who keep our resources library open. In addition to those committees and their chairpersons, we have a director, co-director, secretary and treasurer.

 Q. How do your Bible Study groups work?

A. Our classes augment the other small groups offered by Galilee. The Women’s ministry plans to offer two classes for each of our studies — one on Monday evening, and another on Tuesday morning. Classes begin in August, January, and March. All of our studies are Bible-based, with an emphasis on the woman’s perspective.

 Q. What are some of the special events sponsored by the Women’s Ministry?

A. Our upcoming local events include several Ladies’ Night Out jaunts, a fashion show and a Spring Tea. Our special events planners always manage to include food and fun-filled fellowship, and we have had some prominent guest speakers along with members of our congregation at our extra special events.

Q. Does this group do fund-raising?

A. Once a year, we have a bake and craft sale which helps to fund our missions, which include Christian City and Hope Resource. Our ladies have contributed recipes to a cookbook, “Sharing Our Best,” which we have for sale, and proceeds from that go to the building fund. We sometimes charge for other events to defray expenses, but most of our events are not intended to raise money.

Q. What resources are available in the library?

We have a broad collection of fiction and non-fiction books for check-out. These are displayed before and after the worship service each Sunday. Some other resources, such as teaching kits, can be checked out by special arrangement.

 Q. How can I get involved with this program?

A. Interested women are certainly welcome at our special events, our monthly meetings, or in our Bible classes. Joining a class and attending some of our social events is a great way to get to know other Christian women in the community. Most of our events are publicized through church publications, or you may call the church office for information on upcoming events.
