Do you have programs for my family?

This is a much easier question for me to answer. Our programs are designed to reach every age of individual and people at every stage in spiritual growth. We have a great nursery program, a children's ministry, a youth ministry, and adult classes for all ages. Our women's ministry is one of the best. Our men meet monthly in a men's "Fella-Ship". Along with all of the Bible studies, we offer sports of all kinds, which include an annual fishing trip. Some will come who know a great deal about the Bible, while others are just now beginning to learn the first principles of Christianity. There are times we offer specialty programs for those recovering from the death of a loved one or struggling with divorce.

Is this a friendly church?

Statisticians tell us that a person will make up his or her mind in the first 11 minutes whether they will ever come back to that church or not. This says that the visitor wants to be warmly received from the time he arrives and yet doesn't want to be made a spectacle of. And yet, every church will tell you, "We are a friendly church." I have never met a congregation who said, "We are unfriendly. Come on in." So friendliness is not something you can make people do. It is inherent in their makeup. And so you may ask me, "Do you have a friendly church?" I would have to tell you that I think so, based upon what people who visit with us tell me.

What kind of service do you have - traditional or contemporary?

So many churches are torn apart today over the issue of music. We are neither traditional nor contemporary. God has blessed so many individuals whose talent it is to write beautiful music. All music that honors God is worthy to be used in praise. So you will find that we use everything from Handel's "Messiah" to the old hymns, to Southern gospel, to contemporary. If music is good and has a message, then we do not label it, we simply include it as a part of our worship.

Will it be like my home church?

No. And you will never find another church like your old home church. A church is a family and every congregation is unique unto itself. You will always have loving memories of the church in which you grew up. But we can never, nor do we want to be, your old home church. Your association with your old church will always be yours. No one can take that away. But we will offer you a new opportunity where you can be loved, taught, and guided. And so I offer to you a special invitation to come and visit with us here at Galilee. Our Bible study classes on Sunday begin at 9:30 a.m. and worship begins at 10:30. On Sunday evenings, there are all types of opportunities for families.  On Wednesday night at 7:00, there is a full worship service. Come and be a part of this growing congregation.

What do you teach?

We believe that the Bible alone is the only book inspired of God and is the only guide by which we should live our lives. We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin and is the only hope of salvation. We believe that His teachings are just as applicable today as they ever were, that He was betrayed, crucified, buried, and on the third day arose from the dead. We believe that today He sits at the right hand of the Father and will one day return to claim his church.
